Disney Vacation 2011

This July we took a real life family vacation. Our kids hadn't ever really gone on one and I have only been on one other one. So with lots of planning, we had a travel agent, and 3 years of saving we were off to Disney. My mother and father in law, sis in laws family, and my family all went together. I think that was the highlight for the kids, we were all together as a family for an entire week. We left on a Sunday and returned on the following Saturday. My in laws and my fam all flew, love flying, while Adrien and her family drove. The kids loved flying and it was a great experience for there time!!

London is 2 now and he had to have his own seat. It is really hard with someone who is used to being strapped down to expect them to just have a seat belt. He did awesome on the flight there. He fell asleep as we lifted off and woke up as we touched down, it was perfect!! Belle had a bag of toys and some crayons so she was entertained for the 2 hours that we were in the air.

When we got to our resort, All-Star Movies resort, it was under construction not to mention ugly!! Matthew and I laughed about how it looked like someone decorated it in the early 90's. It was ok and we would have lived there happy all week if it weren't for the construction. At one point we were stuck on the elevator because they had pallets of furniture in front of the door. So Dan, my FIL, mentioned how inconvenient it was and they offered an upgrade to us. Let me tell you I was hesitant, I had already unpacked. I repacked and we were off again!

This is Belle in our new room, they were gorgeous!! The bed spread was golden deblums, coins. It was the Caribbean Beach resort, which was so much nicer. The rooms we all got were Pirates of the Caribbean themed and beach front.

The beds were all pirate ships and everything in the room looked brand new!! We were very happy with the upgrade, however not all of the paper work was fixed so our return was not as easy as it should have been. We had to call for our pick up and everything, it was so last minute that we were running late to return. We enjoyed our rooms so I really can't complain!!

Our first day at the resort we went to Downtown Disney, we had a coupon for Hard Rock Cafe but the wait was so long that we ended up going somewhere else. So we just picked a place to eat and my family decided to go home and get to bed, we had been awake since 4am for our flight. Then the first full day we were off to Magic Kingdom. Oh man did it exceed my expectations!! I loved it and it was HUGE!!!

We bought the girls autograph books and began our hunt for princesses. We first got the main princesses; Belle, Cinderella, and Aurora. They were so fun and beautiful. They were sitting inside and were nice and cool, this was not always the case we later found out!! Next we were off to see Rapunzel, the newest princess. She was awesome!! She came out and danced a dance straight from the movie with all the little girls. Our girls just ate it up!!

Belle was all about the characters but London was a different story. He didn't want to get near them and if he was in a picture I had to be holding him.

Then we ran into the teacup ride, a Disney must do!! I have thought about that ride my entire life!! It was so fun and all of the kids loved it!! Belle, Charlie, and Mattea all rode with Matthew and Chuck and Ellie and London rode with Adrien and I. My stomach gets icky easy and so does Adrien's so we took it easy and the littles loved it! The biggies were a different story, they twirled the entire time and loved every minute of it!!

We also rode 'It's a Small World' ride. This was so cute with all of the dolls dressed from different parts of the world. I felt like I knew a bit more about what Walt cared about going on this ride. He really wanted people to know about other countries and what a fun way to do that!!

Another princess moment but this was one of my favorites!! I love Tiana and so she was fun to see and she was totally in character the whole time!! She asked if any of the girls wanted to work at her restaurant, they all giggled shyly!! She also offered to turn London into a frog with a kiss if he wasn't being good to the girls, they all said no so we were good!!! I think that was my favorite thing about meeting all the characters was that they all were in character and so convincing!!

Our dinner that night was at Epcot and it was a Happily Ever After dinner with the princesses. The girls all dressed up and they were in heaven!! We had a character dinner everyday, if I had any advice it would be to do one or two in a week one a day was to much!! The girls had a great time but it was just a bit much!!

The next day we were off to Epcot. I was so excited for this park, I love seeing other countries and this park has parts that are like traveling from country to country. It was not as awesome as I wanted it to be. It was ok but my kids didn't really enjoy it and it was hot hot hot that day!! We met a few characters but my fav was Tinkerbell. She was super sassy and yelled at a group of kids off in the distance that were being loud!! I loved it and so did the girls.

We also met Marie from Aristocats. This was the first character that London liked. He actually loved her!! He kept petting her and saying kitty to her. She was lovely, she 'licked' each book and kissed the last book. The girls all giggled and pet her!!

The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and that park was so much fun but I think for older kids. We saw an Ariel show that was spectacular!!

Then the day after that we went to the Animal Kingdom. This Park was one I didn't even care to go to, I am not a fan of zoo's, but I loved it so much!! I would say it was my second fav behind Magic Kingdom. We watched all of the shows we could there and one of the most awesome was the Lion King show. It was so great!!

Then we went to Hollywood Studios again to get get Woody and Buzz's signatures and finish up what we needed there. While we were there Belle got her face painted, so beautiful!!! Have you ever scene anything so awesome??? Mattea and Charlie got theres done before Belle and so Belle really wanted it too and it was the last day of vacation so you can't say no!!

Then we were off to the magic Kingdom to see Jessie and Woody. They were the best of all the characters and spent so long with the kids!! London LOVED and I mean LOVED them!! My kids would have been happy living there with them and I think Jessie and Woody would have been happy to have them!!
This is our last night and I have to say it was so hard to leave!! It was so gorgeous!!
We watched the light parade and then had to go back and get to bed. The light parade was so much fun and the kids loved it. There was always a parade or show happening somewhere in all of the parks and sometimes that was fun but sometimes it was a bit inconvenient. We were usually on our way to somewhere or some character and we were stopped a lot. Honestly that was one of the only inconvenient thing there.
Disney was so much more than what I dreamed, and yes I have dreamt about it my whole life, and I can't wait to take the kids back. It will be like 5 years but yes we will go back!!
